Frequently Asked Questions

What are class sizes?

We follow American Heart Association guidelines which dictate no more than six students for newer instructors and nine students for experienced instructors. Our goal is to keep class size to a maximum of fifteen people so that we can maintain a personal connection with each student and allow for questions to be asked and answered without the stress of a large group environment.

Do I have to take an exam?

Heartsaver classes which focus on teaching CPR skills for the workplace and public do not have an examination requirement. Completing the practical portion of the class on the manikins qualifies the student for certification. The Basic Life Support class, due to being a class for professional healthcare providers, includes both a practical and written examination.

Do you really travel to teach CPR and First Aid?

One of the advantages of our service is that we will travel on-site to most areas of Blair County, PA and other nearby locations.

How long is my card good for?

American Heart Association certifications are good for two years. The AHA has also phased out physical cards, so digital e-cards are provided by e-mail. Claiming the cards allows individuals to print their own certificates, cards, and provides links for businesses to verify certification.
